International certifications for Soltecture

Awarded with international quality seals of approval, Berlin system provider and module manufacturer Soltecture is expanding the worldwide sales of its thin-film modules in the USA, Italy and the UK.

For its framed ‘Linion F’ and roof-integrated ‘Linion R’ modules with outputs of up to 90 watts, Soltecture has been awarded product safety certification by TÜV Rheinland to UL 1703 for the US market. In comprehensive material, performance and safety tests conducted by the independent testing authority, Soltecture proved that TÜV Rheinland’s demanding UL requirements are strictly observed in producing the modules and systems.

In addition, the California Energy Commission (CEC) has also included the solar modules from the Berlin company in its coveted CEC listing. The product safety certificate and the CEC listing now enable the German quality manufacturer to meet the enormous demand for solar construction system solutions in North America. For system operators in California, investing in Soltecture system solutions pays off twice: firstly through the higher remuneration entitlement and secondly through the higher quality standards of the solar modules.

“Our solutions based on Linion high-performance modules are particularly in demand in the USA because they combine high performance with an elegant appearance,” explains Henrik Krüpper, CSO and Executive Director of Soltecture. “With the new certifications, we will further develop our sales and become even more active in the USA, UK and Italy.”

Furthermore, Soltecture’s Linion module has been awarded the highly coveted ‘Made in EU’ certificate, which is important for the Italian PV market where it ensures a ten per cent greater feed-in tariff. The company produces its modules exclusively at its production facilities in Berlin with components that are predominately produced in the EU. As confirmed by TÜV Rheinland, it therefore completely fulfils the criteria laid down by the Italian energy agency Gestore die Servizi Elettrici (GSE). This means that Soltecture’s customers will in future not only benefit from the high production standards and yields but also from the higher feed-in tariff.

The British testing authority, BRE Global, has also confirmed the high product quality and safety of Soltecture’s Linion F module with a further certificate. The MCS certificate (Micro-generation Certification Scheme) is required for the purposes of receiving feed-in remuneration for solar electricity generated in the UK and applies to systems with outputs of up to 50 kW.
